URGENT NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS IN AUGUST & SEPTEMBER!!!

  MAKE A DIFFERENCE...VOLUNTEER!
  Volunteer Years after Hurricane Katrina,
the need in South Mississippi is
still great.

According to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, more than 170,000 homes were either totally destroyed or suffered major damage from Hurricane Katrina. Today, thousands of people are still without their own home.

Hurricane Katrina challenged the spirit of many and mental health concerns continue to be an issue. One recent study shows
. about 14% have symptoms of severe mental illness
. 20% have mild to moderate mental illness
. post traumatic stress, which typically goes away in a year
for most disaster survivors, has increased. 21% have
symptoms vs. 16% in 2006.

Camp Biloxi is a ministry in partnership with Recovery Assistance Incorporated, a non-profit disaster relief organization created by the Southern District Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). Camp Biloxi is dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through building houses, encouraging the brokenhearted and despaired, and training volunteer workers for the mission fields on the Mississippi Gulf Coast recently hit by Hurricane Katrina. Construction efforts are ongoing and service project groups are always welcome. Thanks for visiting this site!
